Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been named the 2015 African Player of the Year ahead of Manchester City's Yaya Toure.
Toure had won the last four awards and was once again nominated, but Aubameyang's exploits in Germany have seen him take the crown.
The 26-year-old was born in France, but plays his international football for Gabon, scoring 19 times in 45 games for the Panthers.
Aubameyang is currently being strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool both said to be preparing bids in excess of £40m for a player that has scored 18 league goals this season.
The attacker has become the second European-born player to win the award after Frederic Kanoute.
