Wilfried Bony has claimed that he wants to be given another chance at Manchester City this season.
The 28-year-old spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at Stoke City, but he managed to find the back of the net just twice in 10 games.
Bony earned a switch to the Etihad Stadium in January 2015 after scoring 26 goals in 54 top-flight outings for Swansea City, but he has mustered just 15 league starts and a further 21 appearances since.
With Gabriel Jesus now part of Pep Guardiola's squad, Bony's chances of first-team action could be even more limited.
"I love the club, the fans," Bony told Sky Sports News. "I want to show that Wilfried Bony is still the same player. I've been through a difficult time.
"Leading the goalscoring two years ago, it's still me, nothing has changed, just a difficult time. I just want to show them I can do more than that so I just need to get myself ready."
"Manchester City have to decide how many players [they want]. I'm a Manchester City player. I'm just getting myself ready for the pre-season on July 10."
Bony has scored just six league goals during his time at City.
