Pep Guardiola eager to make use of "better conditions" in Abu Dhabi

Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City's upcoming training camp in Abu Dhabi will keep the players from "fighting the weather" and enable them to make use of "better conditions".

Pep Guardiola has stressed that Manchester City's upcoming trip to Abu Dhabi will keep the players from "fighting the weather" as they do in England.

Following Monday night's Premier League clash at Stoke City, the Citizens will fly out for a warm weather training camp and will remain in the Gulf until Saturday.

As well as being able to check in with owner Sheikh Mansour and the rest of the club hierarchy, Guardiola is looking to make use of their early FA Cup exit and prepare his players properly for the latter stages of the campaign.

"Instead of training here, like we have done for 10 months, fighting the weather, we'll go there and train the same way but in better conditions and see our chairman," the Spaniard told the Man City site. "We did it last season to be together and prepare.

"After the international break, we have the last two months of the competitions. Hopefully, the players will come back safe - without injuries - and we will go to Everton and the quarter-finals. Our performance will dictate what we have to do in the future."

As well as the Premier League title, Man City are hoping to get their hands on a maiden Champions League trophy.
