Pep Guardiola: 'Still room for Manchester City improvement'

Pep Guardiola puts Manchester City's impressive start to the campaign into perspective by pointing out that the season is still in its early days.

Pep Guardiola has again reiterated that Manchester City can still improve all over the field despite their perfect start to the campaign.

The Citizens cruised to a 4-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach in a rearranged Champions League tie on Wednesday evening to make it seven wins from seven under the Spaniard in all competitions.

Prior to that match, and fresh on the back of a dominant display against Manchester United, Guardiola talked of the need for his players to up their performances if they are to truly compete on the European stage.

Ahead of the visit of Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has warned City supporters that it is far too early into the season to start getting carried away by results.

"After half an hour, one hour, sometimes three or four hours we are so happy," he told reporters. "But after that you start to think again about the next [game], you start to worry about the strikers of Bournemouth and how they play.

"We cannot forget where we are - in September. In every game you can be better. It's a chance to improve. There are many things we can do better.

"I saw [Bournemouth's] game against West Ham and they were unlucky. They played really, really well against United in the first 30 minutes until the [Juan] Mata goal. They were perfect on the pitch."

Man City won both of last season's meetings against Bournemouth, scoring nine times across the two games and conceding just once.
