Ilkay Gundogan reportedly wants to re-open contract talks with Manchester City following the FA Cup final against Watford this weekend.
Gundogan will see his current deal with City expire next summer, and it was suggested last month that the midfielder had put contract talks on hold as he 'looked for assurances over regular football'.
However, according to Goal.com, the 28-year-old is now ready to discuss a new deal with the Premier League champions, with talks planned for after the FA Cup final.
Gundogan has been vital for Pep Guardiola's side in recent weeks, operating in the holding midfield position due to the absence of key player Fernandinho, who is struggling to overcome a knee problem.
The Germany international has made more than 100 appearances since joining the Citizens from Borussia Dortmund in 2016. This term, he has contributed six goals and eight assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.
