Joe Hart is reportedly expected to wear the captain's armband for England for the first time in his career against Spain this evening.
The captaincy has been left vacant by Wayne Rooney as the striker will be rested for tonight's international friendly in Alicante.
Gary Cahill has captained the team in Rooney's absence in the past, but according to the Manchester Evening News, manager Roy Hodgson has chosen Hart to lead out the side.
Hart, who has 55 caps for the Three Lions, has been England and Manchester City's number one goalkeeper for the last five or six years.
