Spain and England have played out a goalless 45 minutes in their international friendly this evening.
The hosts dominated possession throughout the first half, but it was England who looked the most threatening early on, as both Raheem Sterling and Ross Barkley missed the target from outside the penalty area.
Spain improved as the half progressed, and came close to taking the lead when Gerard Pique saw an effort deflect narrowly wide, before Valencia striker Paco Alcacer headed over the bar from the resulting corner.
Roy Hodgson's side struggled to regain control of the match, with both Sergio Busquets and Paco Alcacer firing wide, before Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas found his club teammate Diego Costa, only for the Brazil-born striker to drag his effort wide.
England recovered from their opponents' missed opportunities, and could have taken a first-half lead when Harry Kane saw an effort deflect into the path of Spain keeper Iker Casillas, while Fabian Delph forced a low save from the Porto man moments later.
The visitors' best chance of the half came on the stroke of half time when Kane was picked out in a good position by Ryan Bertrand, but the Tottenham Hotspur striker dragged his effort wide.
