Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic believes that their midweek victory over Bayern Munich will provide the team with the confidence that they need ahead of their trip to Southampton this afternoon.
Jovetic is one of four changes to the City side for the trip to St Mary's, and the Montenegrin forward thinks that Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Bundesliga champions will act as a springboard for success.
"I think the game against Bayern means a lot for confidence because in the Champions League, we haven't played well but we won against Bayern Munich and that is very important," he told Sky Sports News. "We've got more confidence from that.
"Honestly, [Southampton] are playing very good football and they're in second place in the Premier League and today it is a pleasure to play against them and I hope we can win."
