Vincent Kompany: 'Most teams would lose at Southampton'

Vincent Kompany is content with Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Southampton, claiming that "many sides" will drop points against Mauricio Pochettino's men.

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany believes that Saturday's 1-1 draw away to Southampton represents a good point because "many teams" will drop points against the Saints.

City's woes away from the Etihad Stadium continued, as Sergio Aguero saw his 10th-minute opener cancelled out by Pablo Osvaldo's strike shortly before half time.

"In the end it was hard-fought and I think either team could have won the game," he told Sky Sports News.

"We will look at this and think that we did not get beaten and moving on it was a tough game so wasn't a bad result. It is a very good Southampton team and many teams will lose points here.

"It did feel like a top game, it did feel like we were playing a top side, so for us we take a positive out of the point and if we manage to win the next game then ultimately we will be happy with the draw."

Manuel Pellegrini's men could slip to as many as eight points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League, should the Gunners beat Everton this afternoon.

The Sky Blues travel to Bayern Munich during the week for their last group game of the Champions League campaign, before hosting the North London outfit at Eastlands on Saturday.
