Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany was reportedly not dropped against Leicester City because of a bust-up with teammate Fernandinho.
Reports emerged that the Belgian had a "blazing row" with Fernandinho at half time during their 2-1 defeat at Liverpool 10 days ago which resulted in him being omitted from the starting lineup against Leicester last week.
However, according to PA, the reported altercation had nothing to do with Manuel Pellegrini's team selection against the Foxes.
Pellegrini said after the win over Leicester that it was "important to refresh the team mentally and physically after two difficult games" - defeats against Barcelona and Liverpool.
Kompany may return to the City starting XI in their next game away at Burnley on Saturday evening.
