Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has suggested that the club could one day appoint Pep Guardiola as their new manager.
The former Premier League champions are in the hunt for a new boss following Roberto Mancini's dismissal, but outgoing Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini is expected to fill the vacancy.
Despite not planning to swoop for Guardiola as yet, Soriano believes that the Spaniard would be open to reuniting with himself and City director Txiki Begiristain following their stint together at Barcelona.
"I know Pep," The Express quotes Soriano as saying. "Txiki knows Pep. So we don't need to be in the market for Pep. If Pep decided to come to England he would have called us, right? He's very young, 42 now, and after Germany he probably will come to England."
Meanwhile, the former Barcelona boss will become the new Bayern Munich manager this summer.
