Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has reportedly expressed his concern in captain Vincent Kompany's decision to join up with the Belgium national side, despite dealing with a calf injury.
The centre-back was pulled out of the squad that defeated Sunderland 3-0 over the weekend after picking up a calf problem.
It has been suggested that Mancini would have preferred the 26-year-old to refrain from going on international duty and continue his recovery at City's Carrington training ground, according to Goal.com.
Kompany has suffered the same injury three times in six months.
