Former Bayern Munich star Lothar Matthaus has accused Pep Guardiola of neglecting the team by planning his squad at Manchester City before he even has the job.
The Spanish coach confirmed in December that he will end his spell as Bayern manager at the end of the season.
Guardiola later revealed that he wants to manage in the Premier League, and City are favourites to land the successful coach.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also been touted as potential destinations for Guardiola, but Matthaus believes that the 44-year-old is already making plans for his arrival at City.
"Guardiola can say what he wants," Matthaus told Bild. "The squad planning for Manchester City is too important for him to have his head 100% with Bayern Munich. That's a dangerous double-crossing situation to be in.
"Guardiola will have five difficult months in Munich. I don't want to beat around the bush: There never was true love between Guardiola and the Bayern players. His hugs? It was all a big show."
Guardiola has won 19 trophies in his eight years of management.
