Swansea City manager Garry Monk believes that Wilfried Bony's departure to Manchester City was the right decision for the club.
The Ivory Coast international signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League champions on Wednesday.
The Swans are expected to make a decent profit on Bony, who joined the Welsh club from Vitesse Arnhem for £12m in 2013 and was sold for a reported £25m fee, which could rise to £28m in add-ons.
"This decision was best for the player and best for the club," Monk told reporters. "You have to take a lot of things into consideration when these opportunities come up for players and from a club perspective.
"We always do the best for the club and we felt this was the right deal for us."
Bony scored 36 goals in 73 appearances for Swansea.
