Nigel Pearson: 'Manchester City did not do much against Leicester City'

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson believes that Manchester City did little besides scoring the winning goal in their Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has bemoaned his side's 1-0 home defeat against Manchester City in the Premier League.

On-loan midfielder Frank Lampard scored the winner for the Citizens at the King Power Stadium to condemn the East Midlands outfit to the bottom of the table, five points adrift of safety.

Pearson claims that the Foxes did not deserve to lose and that the current Premier League champions 'created little' besides their solitary goal.

He told BBC Sport after the game: "It's another difficult day for us. We played well, I don't think there's too much you can say against that. Not a lot of chances at either end. They showed why they are champions, scored a goal out of nothing and didn't really create anything else.

"We are on the receiving end of another defeat and I don't think we deserved to be but that's how it is. There's no point me being anything other than rational about it. I think the players played well. Unfortunately we have been unable to get anything. Whether we deserved it is irrelevant.

"We have to look to next game. When you're adrift that makes it even more difficult psychologically but I don't think our players looked like they lacked belief and that will be important moving forward."

Leicester's next league fixture is away at high-flying West Ham United next Saturday.
