Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has allayed fears that Sergio Aguero is suffering from an injury by insisting that he wants to keep the striker fresh for upcoming fixtures.
Aguero was substituted for the fourth successive match during City's 3-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion, but Pellegrini has revealed that he withdrew the Argentinian forward with one eye on his side's trip to Southampton on Saturday.
The Chilean told reporters: "I changed him because we have to play another game in less than 72 hours against another strong team in Southampton.
"Sergio is playing very, very well and he will continue scoring."
Aguero has scored 17 goals in 18 appearances for City during the current campaign.
