Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini believes that Yaya Toure is slowly finding his best form this season following his display in his side's 2-1 win over Swansea City.
The Citizens came from a goal down to defeat Garry Monk's men at the Etihad Stadium as the Ivorian netted a 62nd-minute winner for Pellegrini's side, after Stevan Jovetic had cancelled out Wilfried Bony's opener.
Pellegrini told reporters: "He is improving every game. He is important for us. He scored so many goals last time and it would be impossible to expect him to score the same amount of goals this season.
"He is a midfielder not a striker. We shouldn't judge whether Yaya has played well according to whether he has scored.
"He scored a good goal, but even more impressive was how he played until the end despite playing in an international game a few days ago. He was tired, but he has the personality to compete till the end."
City still trail Chelsea by eight points in the race for the Premier League title as they lie in third place in the table.
