Scott Carson is reportedly set to feature between the sticks for Manchester City's Premier League clash against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
Ederson has been banned from playing by FIFA, with the Brazilian FA asking the governing body to impose a five-day restriction on the players that did not travel during the international break.
The Brazilian's suspension would have opened the door for number two Zack Steffen to feature, but the United States international is self-isolating, having tested positive for coronavirus.
As a result, Carson is in line to make just his second Premier League appearance in 10 years by featuring at the King Power Stadium, according to The Sun.
The 36-year-old has only made one appearance for the Citizens since arriving in 2019, turning out against Newcastle United in the Premier League in May 2021.
Carson has plenty of experience in England's top flight, though, making 146 appearances in the competition for West Bromwich Albion, Charlton Athletic, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Leeds United and Man City.
