Manchester City midfielder David Silva was stretchered off during his side's 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad Stadium this evening.
Silva fell awkwardly in the 67th minute and was unable to get back to his feet as his ankle was put in a protective boot before he was carried off the field to be replaced by James Milner.
The Spaniard also missed his side's 2-2 draw against Sunderland on Wednesday through injury, but was deemed fit enough to start for the title challengers this evening.
Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that the injury is not as serious as first feared as they look to catch league leaders Liverpool in the final few games of the season.
City are now six points behind the Reds following this evening's result, but they do have one game in hand that could reduce the deficit to three.
