Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been charged with driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
The Argentine was arrested by Cheshire Police last week on the suspicion of the two driving offences, having been banned from driving for six months previously for failing to provide information after he was caught speeding.
He will now appear at Macclesfield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, April 3 - which is five days before the Manchester derby.
If found guilty, the 29-year-old is likely to be handed a £5,000 fine.
