Kyle Walker: 'Manchester City will not be complacent'

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker insists that there is no chance of complacency creeping in for his side ahead of their Premier League trip to struggling Swansea.

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker has insisted that there is no chance of complacency creeping in for his side when they take on struggling Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this evening.

City have won a Premier League-record 14 consecutive games to storm into an 11-point lead at the top of the table, with the most recent of those seeing them beat closest challengers Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.

The derby victory has led many to proclaim Pep Guardiola's side as the champions-elect already, but Walker is expecting a difficult match in South Wales.

"We won't be complacent against Swansea. The senior members of the dressing room and the management definitely won't let us take it light-heartedly," he told reporters.

"We need to keep our foot on the gas, keep going and hopefully that will see us through. It's going to be difficult.

"It is always a tough place to go and they play some good football, but we're full of confidence off the back of the United result and we need to take that confidence into this game."

Victory this evening would see City become the first team in Premier League history to win 15 consecutive matches.
