Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has vowed to help his team "fight" for their Premier League title.
The 29-year-old returned to England this week following Ivory Coast's elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite a nine-point gap between City and leaders Manchester United, Toure believes that the champions can retain their crown.
"We are further behind than we'd like, of course, but all we need to do is think about last season to know what is possible," he told the club's official website.
"My friends are all here and are happy to see me and we are like a family or brothers who will all fight together - and that is a very important thing to have."
Manchester City travel to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday.
