Manchester City defender Micah Richards will reportedly be included in Team GB's Olympic football squad at the expense of David Beckham.
Former England captain Beckham earlier confirmed that he would not be in Stuart Pearce's 18-man party for this summer's London Games.
The thought process behind Beckham's omission is believed to be Pearce's preference to take an over-age player as experienced defensive cover.
According to BBC Sport, Richards will be named in the squad as one of Pearce's three wildcard selections due to his ability to play both right-back and centre-half.
Pearce worked with Richards during his time as Man City boss.
