How Leicester City could line up against Manchester City

Sports Mole looks at how Leicester City could line up in Saturday's Community Shield with Manchester City.

Leicester City are facing the prospect of being without Wesley Fofana for the entire 2021-22 campaign, with the centre-back suffering a fractured fibula during Wednesday's pre-season clash with Villarreal.

Fofana is out for the foreseeable future, while the Foxes will also be unable to call upon Timothy Castagne, James Justin and Jonny Evans this weekend through injury.

As a result, there is a chance that Wilfred Ndidi could be pressed into action in the middle of the defence alongside Caglar Soyuncu, with Ricardo Pereira and Ryan Bertrand featuring in the full-back areas.

Head coach Brendan Rodgers now has a strong squad, with many of his players returning from international duty, and Kasper Schmeichel is set to feature between the sticks at Wembley.

There could be competitive debuts for Bertrand and Boubakary Soumare, although fellow new arrival Patson Daka might start on the bench, with Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho potentially lining up in attack.

Harvey Barnes has also overcome his injury problems and should feature in a wide area, with Marc Albrighton potentially playing on the opposite side, as he has had a summer of rest.

Youri Tielemans was strongly linked with Liverpool earlier in the transfer window, but the Belgium international has remained at the King Power Stadium and should line up in the middle of the park.

Leicester possible starting lineup: Schmeichel; Pereira, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Bertrand; Albrighton, Tielemans, Soumare, Barnes; Vardy, Iheanacho
