Premier League champions Manchester City have started their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 defeat at Dundee.
The Scottish side took the lead on 27 minutes when Gary Harkins converted the rebound after his penalty had been saved by new City signing Willy Caballero.
Dundee then doubled their advantage seven minutes before the break as Dedryck Boyata diverted the ball into his own net.
The visitors introduced Samir Nasri, Javi Garcia and Alvaro Negredo at half time, though they struggled to trouble the Dundee defence.
City youngster Bruno Zuculini fired wide on 64 minutes before Iain Davidson volleyed off target at the other end minutes later.
Nasri, Negredo and Scott Sinclair all had openings for City late on, but they were unable to stop their side suffering a surprise defeat.
