Manchester City will reportedly allow Barcelona to pay the £55m fee for Ferran Torres in four installments.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the two clubs had reached an agreement over the transfer of the Spain international ahead of the January transfer window.

Despite their well-documented financial problems, the Catalan giants have recently taken out a substantial loan, providing them with the funds to get a deal over the line.

However, according to Marca, negotiations continued until both parties were prepared to agree that the fee would be spread over four installments.

The report claims that there was initially a €30m (£25.37m) difference when it came to a price before a compromise was reached which suited all parties.

City also stand to receive bonuses if Torres helps Barcelona to the Champions League, wins the Ballon d'Or, wins the Golden Boot or is sold for in excess of €100m (£84.56m) in the future. body check tags ::
