Bayern Munich have reportedly made the breakthrough in their bid to sign Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.
Earlier this month, City boss Pep Guardiola acknowledged that the Germany international had no intention of extending his contract past the end of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, despite long-standing interest from Bayern, there has been an insistence that a sale will not go through for a cut-price figure.
According to The Guardian, the Bundesliga champions have finally agreed a fee with City officials, said to be in the region of £41m.
The report suggests that the 24-year-old will pen a five-year contract, which will come into effect once the sides have finished their respective seasons.
With both clubs still competing in the Champions League, their final fixture may not be played until August 23.
