Manchester City are reportedly looking to sign Scott Sinclair from Swansea City in a cut-price deal.
Sinclair has less than a year left on his Swans contract and has yet to begin discussions on his future after returning from Olympic duty with Great Britain.
City manager Roberto Mancini is hoping to take advantage of the situation by making an initial £5.5m offer for the winger which could rise to £8m, according to the Daily Mail.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup is confident of keeping the 23-year-old and wants the situation resolved before the club's opening Premier League match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, August 18.
