Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is in the market for a new full-back, with Bayern Munich ace David Alaba reportedly at the top of his summer wishlist.

Pep Guardiola is hopeful of being reunited with versatile Bayern Munich star David Alaba at Manchester City next summer, according to a report.

Representatives of the 24-year-old, who can play anywhere on the left or in a defensive-midfield position, are said to have already held initial discussions with the Citizens over a £40m move.

The Sun claims that City want to lure Alaba to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, with new full-backs at the top of Guardiola's wishlist as he attempts to turn his side into a European force.

Guardiola worked with the Austria international for three years during his time in charge of Bayern, and it is claimed that he is willing to double the £75,000-per-week five-year deal signed by Alaba just seven months ago should he put pen to paper at City.
