Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that there is a contract offer on the table for Leroy Sane.
The Germany international, who scored twice in City's 6-1 win over Kitchee in Hong Kong, will see his current deal at the Etihad Stadium expire in the summer of 2021.
Bayern Munich have been linked with a swoop for the 23-year-old ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Guardiola has revealed that the Citizens are waiting to learn whether the attacker wants to extend his stay with the Premier League champions, but the Spaniard has conceded that there is a possibility Sane could leave.
"He is a guy who I appreciate a lot," ESPN quotes Guardiola as saying. "I like him a lot, I think he has an incredible gap to be better in terms of being connected in the game.
"I have said two or three times that we want him and we want him to stay. He has an offer and we are waiting to talk with his agents to extend the contract, so it's not in our hands.
"He has to decide. If he wants and there is an agreement, then it's good. But if he wants to leave, he can do it. We will be sad - hopefully he stays."
Sane scored 16 times and registered 18 assists in 47 appearances for City last season, including 10 goals and 11 assists in the Premier League.
