Sunderland are interested in securing the loan signing of Manchester City forward John Guidetti, according to reports.
Black Cats boss Paolo Di Canio is keen to strengthen in the striker department after only Steven Fletcher impressed in attack last season.
According to the Northern Echo, the Italian wants to bring in City striker Guidetti, who has failed to break into the first team at the Etihad Stadium.
The 21-year-old has failed to score for the Manchester club, but he did net 20 goals in 23 games during a loan spell with Feyenoord during the 2011-12 season.
One factor that could push through a move is that Sunderland incoming director of football Roberto di Fanti is the Swedish international's agent.
