John Stones is reportedly close to agreeing a new £175,000-a-week contract with Manchester City.
The 27-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign at club level before playing a key role in England's run to the final of this summer's European Championships.
Stones's existing deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire next June, and there was speculation surrounding the centre-back's future in the early stages of last season.
However, according to The Mirror, the former Barnsley youngster is now close to signing a new deal, which will increase his wages to £175,000 a week.
Stones has been given extra time to recover from Euro 2020 and will therefore not be involved in Saturday's Community Shield with Leicester City.
Man City are also thought to have been in contract talks with Raheem Sterling, but a recent report claimed that discussions between the two parties have stalled.
