Man City chiefs 'believe they should have signed Harry Kane over Jack Grealish'

:Headline: Man City chiefs 'believe they should have signed Harry Kane over Jack Grealish':
Manchester City chiefs supposedly admit that they should have signed Harry Kane rather than spending £100m on Jack Grealish last summer.

The powers-that-be at Manchester City have allegedly admitted that they should have pursued a deal for Harry Kane over Jack Grealish.

The Premier League champions tried to pull off nine-figure deals for both England internationals in the summer window but were forced to give up their pursuit of Kane due to Spurs' £150m asking price.

Man City agreed to pay Jack Grealish's £100m release clause in his Aston Villa contract, but the 26-year-old has endured an underwhelming start to his Etihad career with two goals and two assists in 16 Premier League matches.

According to Football Insider, Man City chiefs have no doubt about Grealish's ability, but they have silently admitted that they would have been better off trying to prise Kane away from Tottenham.

The report adds that the City hierarchy have noticed Grealish's struggles to adapt to Pep Guardiola's style of play, but the Citizens will also not prioritise a deal for Kane in the summer window as they eye alternative names in the final third.

Grealish is under contract at Man City until the summer of 2027 and is reported to be pocketing £350k per week at the Etihad. body check tags ::
