Manchester City reportedly prepare to welcome Fluminense starlet Metinho to the club, having already secured the signature of his teammate Kayky.

Manchester City are closing in on the signature of highly-rated Fluminense midfielder Metinho, according to a report.

The Citizens have already secured the services of one Brazilian starlet in recent months, with Metinho's fellow Fluminense prospect Kayky preparing to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium in January 2022.

Now, Goal reports that Kayky's teammate and compatriot Metinho will follow him to the blue side of Manchester, and Pep Guardiola's side will fork out £4.3m to land the 18-year-old.

Metinho rose through the youth ranks at Fluminense and led by example with the captain's armband for the Under-17s in 2020, scooping the Brasileirao trophy and also reaching the final of the Copa do Brasil.

The midfielder has only made one senior appearance in his career so far, but he is supposedly set to link up with newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Troyes on loan for the 2021-22 season after joining City.
