Manchester City have reportedly identified Cruzeiro defender Murilo as a potential replacement for Vincent Kompany ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
Kompany will be leaving the Citizens this summer to take up a player-manager role with Anderlecht.
Pep Guardiola's side have been strongly linked with a move for Leicester City's Harry Maguire.
However, according to TEAMtalk, the Premier League champions have earmarked Murilo as the player to replace their long-serving captain heading into the new season.
The 22-year-old was promoted to the Cruzeiro first team at the start of 2017 and has since made 41 senior appearances for the Brazilian club.
Murilo, who is also said to be attracting interest from Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Monaco, could be available for £15m in this summer's transfer window.
