Manchester City are believed to be keeping a close eye on the development of Barcelona starlet Nico Gonzalez.
The 19-year-old, who primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, has quickly settled into the Barcelona B team after progressing through the ranks at the La Masia academy.
Gonzalez has already made 20 appearances for the B team this season - registering two assists - and the Blaugrana reportedly want to tie the youngster down to a new three-year deal as a reward for his impressive performances.
The Catalan giants are also thought to be willing to integrate him into the first team, but according to AS, Man City are ready to pounce if the teenager - son of former Spain international and City youth coach Fran Gonzalez - elects to seek out a move somewhere else.
However, the report adds that City's pursuit of Gonzalez could be complicated by Ajax's interest, and Koeman has identified the youngster as a long-term replacement for Sergio Busquets.
Gonzalez made seven appearances for the Spain Under-17s side between 2018 and 2019, but he is yet to feature for the Under-19s. body check tags ::
