Manchester City have reportedly identified Napoli midfielder Allan as a possible replacement for Fernandinho.
City narrowly missed out on Allan's former Napoli teammate Jorginho during the summer as they continue their search for cover for Fernandinho, who is now 33 years old.
The Brazilian's recent absence from the team - which coincided with Man City falling to back-to-back shock defeats - is understood to have increased the desire to find a long-term replacement during the summer.
TuttoMercatoWeb reports that they have earmarked Fernandinho's compatriot Allan as a target, although Napoli will not let him leave for anything less than €100m (£89m).
City are also expected to face competition for his signature from Paris Saint-Germain, with both clubs switching their focus from Frenkie de Jong after reports that Barcelona have won the race for the Ajax youngster.
Allan has been with Napoli since 2015, making more than 150 appearances for the club across all competitions.
