Manchester City and Real Madrid are both reportedly interested in signing River Plate centre-back Lucas Martinez Quarta during this summer's transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who made his Argentina debut in September 2019, has represented River on 96 occasions since making his debut in 2016.
According to Calciomercato, City and Madrid are both in the hunt for the defender ahead of the upcoming transfer window, which could be pushed back due to the current uncertainty in the world of football.
The report claims that Quarta has a €22m (£19.3m) release clause in his current contract with Marcelo Gallardo's side.
A number of other clubs are also thought to be in the running, though, with the likes of Inter Milan, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Real Betis all credited with an interest.
Quarta has featured on 20 occasions for River during the current season.
