Manchester City reportedly remain confident that Leroy Sane will eventually sign a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.
While Sane was linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich during the summer, a bid was scrapped when the Germany international sustained a serious knee injury in August, ruling him out until the early part of 2020.
With the winger now having less than 18 months left on his contract, it is increasingly likely that Bayern will make a formal approach during 2020.
However, according to Metro, City are hopeful that Sane will choose to continue his career at the Etihad Stadium.
The report adds that the 24-year-old was grateful for the Premier League champions keeping fresh terms on the negotiating table during the early phase of his rehabilitation.
Much could depend on how Sane fares during the second half of the campaign, with a playing return unlikely until at least the middle of February.
