Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly decided to make a new approach for Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand.
Throughout the summer, Bertrand was linked with a switch to the Etihad Stadium, but City failed to push through a deal for the England international after signing Benjamin Mendy.
However, Mendy will miss the majority of the season with a serious knee injury, which has left Fabian Delph and Danilo to deputise for the French international.
According to The Sun, that will not stop Guardiola from trying to strengthen at left-back, and Bertrand is allegedly at the top of his wishlist.
The 28-year-old still has over three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at St Mary's, but the former Chelsea player has frequently been linked with a switch to a bigger club.
Any transfer could potentially depend on the future of Luke Shaw, with the Saints said to be keen on re-signing their former defender from Manchester United.
