Manchester City have reportedly identified Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as the ideal long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
Martinez continues to be linked with a move away from Inter, and Barcelona are regarded by many as the favourites to secure the Argentine's signature during this summer's transfer window.
The Spanish champions are thought to have already agreed personal terms with the South American, although Real Madrid have also recently been credited with an interest.
Tuttosport now claim that City have entered the race for the 22-year-old as they attempt to secure a successor for Aguero, who will be out of contract at the Etihad Stadium next summer.
Martinez has been in impressive form for Antonio Conte's side during the 2019-20 campaign, finding the back of the net on 16 occasions in 31 appearances, including five Champions League goals.
City, though, will allegedly have to overturn their two-year European suspension if they are to win the race for his signature during this summer's transfer window.
The striker is believed to have a release clause of €111m (£100.6m) in his current deal at San Siro.
