Manchester City youngster Greg Leigh has joined Crewe Alexandra on a short-term loan deal, subject to clearance.
The 19-year-old defender's temporary switch to the League One club is due to end on January 5.
Leigh, who is yet to make a senior appearance for City, has won four caps for England Under-19s.
Crewe continue their league campaign on Saturday when they welcome Barnsley to Gresty Road.
