Manchester City are reportedly in pole position to sign Troyes attacker Savio during this summer's transfer window, with a deal potentially being completed for as little as £10m.
The 19-year-old joined Girona on loan from Troyes last July, and he has been in impressive form for the La Liga leaders this season, scoring six goals and registering five assists in 23 appearances.
A number of clubs have been credited with an interest in the teenager, but according to the Daily Star, Man City are the heavy favourites to secure his signature in a cut-price deal.
The report claims that the Premier League champions could purchase Savio for as little as £10m, as both Girona and Troyes are owned by the club's City Football Group.
Troyes would allegedly be able to ask for at least £30m from other clubs for the forward this summer, but Man City will potentially be paying only a third of that price.
Real Madrid are believed to be among the clubs keen on the forward, having watched him closely in Spain's top flight during the 2023-24 campaign.
Savio has managed five goals and five assists in 20 La Liga appearances this term, while he has netted once in three outings in the Copa del Rey.
The Brazil Under-20s international largely features as a left-sided attacker, but he has also played in a central position this season.
The youngster started his professional career with Atletico Mineiro, making 35 appearances for the Brazilian side in all competitions, before making the move to European football with Troyes.
Savio arrived at Troyes in June 2022, but he is yet to turn out for the French team, spending time on loan with Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven during the 2022-23 campaign.
Erling Haaland is still comfortably Man City's leading goalscorer this season despite his recent injury trouble, finding the back of the net on 19 occasions in all competitions.
Julian Alvarez (13) and Phil Foden (11) have also managed double figures this term in terms of goals, while Bernardo Silva has seven, but Jeremy Doku has only netted four times, and an underwhelming campaign to date has seen Jack Grealish score just three goals.
Cole Palmer and Riyad Mahrez were among the players to leave Man City over the summer, and it is believed that the reigning English champions will be in the market for at least one attacker ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. body check tags ::
