Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that he has rejected Manchester City's latest offer for midfielder Jorginho.
City boss Pep Guardiola has identified Jorginho as the player that he wants to strengthen his team's efforts in the centre of the pitch, but it appears that the Premier League champions face a fight to secure their top target.
Jorginho's agent has previously said that Napoli are yet to reject City's most recent bid, but De Laurentiis has chosen to provide an update on the situation.
De Laurentiis told Corriere dello Sport: "Jorginho? I have refused an offer from Man City worth €45m plus €5m in bonuses."
The offer - which currently stands at £43.7m - is likely to be increased in the near future with Jorginho said to have already agreed terms over a switch to the Etihad Stadium.
