Manuel Pellegrini has refused to rule out making new signings for Manchester City in January.
The Premier League champions have endured a mixed campaign so far with Chelsea six points clear at the top, and the Blues are also in danger of exiting the Champions League next month.
Pellegrini has suggested that City's indifferent form could see them invest in new talent.
The Chilean coach is quoted by ESPN as saying: "It's a thing that maybe we will talk in a few weeks more, but not in this moment. We are just focused on the Premier League, focused on the game in Rome.
"If we continue in the Champions League we will have a lot of things to think about, but you must remember we have restrictions this year - restrictions that we cannot bring in important players because we must leave them out of the squad for the Champions League.
"So we will see but I repeat that at this moment it is not the first priority to talk about. We are not thinking about that because I think it's important to trust in the squad that we have."
City must beat Roma in their final Champions League group game to have a chance of reaching the last 16.
