Pescara have reportedly targeted Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss as a replacement for Marco Verratti.
The Slovakian, who has only managed to make five appearances in his four years at the Etihad Stadium, spent last season on loan at Espanyol.
Weiss has also enjoyed stints on loan at Bolton Wanderers and Rangers while seemingly being deemed surplus to requirements by the Citizens.
Espanyol are thought to be keen on making the 22-year-old's switch permanent, however Gazzetta dello Sport understand that Pescara will try to coax Weiss to Serie A.
The deal may include highly-rated Italy Under-17 goalkeeper Luca Savelloni moving the other way.
Pescara, who won promotion from Serie B last season, sold their young starlet Verratti to Paris Saint-Germain for £10m last week.
