Los Blancos were widely expected to sign Mbappe on a free transfer this summer, but PSG are now believed to be confident of signing the France international to a fresh contract.

There is a £67m release clause in the Norway international's BVB deal, but the move is likely to cost in the region of £300m, including agent fees and wages.
