Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly remains interested in signing both Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe next summer.
Los Blancos are believed to be the favourites to recruit Mbappe when his Paris Saint-Germain contract expires in June, while they are also one of several clubs set to battle for the signature of Haaland, who will see his £64m release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract become active in the summer.
According to Sport, Madrid have already made an offer for the 21-year-old Norway international, as they are keen to move ahead of Barcelona and Manchester City in the race to sign him.
The report adds that Los Blancos are 'convinced' that they can sign the striker this summer, and they will likely find out in March whether their pursuit is successful, which is when the player intends to make a final decision on his future.
If Real Madrid were to sign Haaland, the report goes on the suggest that they could potentially keep the youngster on loan at Dortmund until the summer of 2023, when Karim Benzema's contract expires, before integrating him into their squad the following season.
However, Perez is most likely to want the striker to move to the Spanish capital immediately and form a fearsome strike partnership with Mbappe.
Since joining Dortmund in January 2020, Haaland has scored 80 goals and provided 21 assists in just 79 appearances across all competitions. body check tags ::
