Real Betis are reportedly in the driving seat to secure the signing of Manchester City's out-of-favour midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim.
The 22-year-old, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Premier League outfit, is currently on loan in Norway with Stromsgodset.
His loan spell with the Norwegian outfit is due to end in December, however, while his contract with City will expire next summer.
A number of European clubs have been linked with his services, but according to Sky Sports News, Betis boss Pepe Mel is confident of attaining his signature.
Ibrahim, who was born in Somalia, joined City in 2010.
