Ronald Koeman has reportedly increased the pressure on the Barcelona board to bring in Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia during the January transfer window.
The Catalan giants have endured a torrid first campaign under Koeman, not helped by ongoing questions over Lionel Messi's future and injuries to key personnel in defence and attack.
Barca missed out on top targets Depay, Garcia and Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer, but Mundo Deportivo claims that the club could be back in for two of those players next month.
Under-fire boss Koeman is said to have pleaded for some new signings, believing that Lyon forward Depay and Manchester City centre-back Garcia can help rejuvenate his side for the second half of the campaign.
However, matters are complicated following the recent departure of president Josep Maria Bartomeu, with an election set to take place in the middle of the January transfer window.
Barca also announced an £88m loss for the last financial year, with their net debt doubling to £440m.
